Rockwell Automation uses Power BI to gain real-time data visibility to be more predictive and agile
Rockwell Automation has 1,400 Microsoft Power BI content creators who are helping their team deliver analytics and optimize the work they're doing to generate revenue. With Power BI, the company has real-time insights into IoT data so they can better predict when circuit boards might fail which helps them be more predictive and agile. This eliminates tons of waste, inefficiencies, and increases the quality of products.
Rockwell Automation has turned to a Power BI Pro license, which allows employees to generate self-serve reports to act when and where appropriate. According to Lisa Roszkowski, Manager, Data & Analytics Governance at Rockwell Automation, there are 5,000 people actively using Power BI reports, with a trend line that reveals that “we are already over 800,000 report reads per half-year, so usage is phenomenal.”
In Enterprise Architect Chris Wagner’s view, Power BI has been “a massive success at Rockwell Automation. We’re using it across our entire organization. We have seen year-over-year increases in adoption and report usage and users onboarding into the system. If anything, our biggest challenge is people just want more and more and more.” Roszkowski explains that “over the last six months there has been an astronomical increase in usage and awareness and understanding what it can be used for.”
